Cascina di Mont'Alto

This year the Befana put many gifts in her stocking... a trip out of town to a fairytale place, chance encounters that took us straight to the Cascina di Montalto. The dark wood with the large windows and the spot where it is located, leaves you enchanted in front of the mountains with snow-capped peaks... like that of Haidi's grandfather... hospitality is an art, but not for everyone... we find Mr. Antonio or Tonino, he tells us about his earth, making us sit down, as if we were in his home... in fact his house and shop are a single place. Immediately afterwards, Luisa, his wife, arrives and with a big smile and affability she describes her dishes to us, given that she is the chef...she proposes alternatives, leaves nothing to chance and satisfies everyone even the most undecided...from here onwards it's It was music for our palates and the sun peeking through the large windows warmed and made everything more harmonious. Well-prepared and tasty dishes, generous portions, excellent quality meat and local products. ..it all ends with an exchange of stories of our lives lived, coincidentally in the same places. Sometimes there is a reminder towards certain destinations, as if we had already experienced them, perhaps because there will certainly be a return.. Excellent place located in Gessopalena (CH), refined and local cuisine with niche buffalo-based products from appetizers (the platters with buffalo meats and cheeses are amazing) to grilled dishes. The first courses are sublime as are the homemade desserts. Polite, helpful and professional staff. Average prices. Beautiful location (wooden cabin). Advised.

WONDERFUL We ate here for the first time a few nights ago, wow we shouldn't have left it so long to try it out. The meal and service from start to finish was excellent. If you are ever in the Gessopalena area this place is a MUST.
